St Illtyd's has been part of the local community for 175 years. Built by our first parish priest FrJames Carroll, on land donated by the Guest family and opened officially in July 1846, it was extended in 1894 by priests from the Benedictine community who looked after the parish for almost 60 years. In 1996 at our 150th anniversary the church was reordered by Fr Nick James and a team of parishioners. In 2021 we reached 175 years of worshipping here. We're proud of all we've achieved over the years - the clergy we've nurtured, the causes we've supported and the community we've helped to build. Now we face having to replace our roof and upgrade the church building and facilities to make sure we continue to serve the community through the 21st century and beyond. Anything you can donate to our appeal would be greatly appreciated.
