About Us

Route 34

Colleagues, students and partners to the David Ross Education Trust are embarking on a 678km journey around all 34 Academies part of the Trust in aid of the Inspiration Fund.

This virtual mission challenges participants to cover a 678km route to all academies part of the David Ross Education Trust, branching from Scarborough to the Olympic Park in London. Using the 'My Virtual Mission' app, staff, students and friends to the Trust will be able to log distances covered in daily exercise activities to chip away at the challenge and track their progress along the route.

This incredible challenge is all in aid of the Inspiration Fund which enables the David Ross Education Trust to deliver a world-class enrichment programme which is one of a kind in the state education sector. The DRET Enrichment Programme provides life-changing enrichment opportunities through sport & music which broadens the horizons of over 14,000 pupils across the country. These opportunities, which would normally only be seen in fee-paying independent schools, build character, develop talent and shape our pupils into confident, well-rounded young adults.

Events and initiatives benefiting our academies and made possible by the Inspiration Fund include:

- The DRET Summer Cup and Winter Cups, both primary and secondary

- The DRET Music Festivals, primary & secondary

- Talents days with specialist musicians, dance instructors, elite athletes and Olympians

- Mentoring programmes

- Virtual Challenges

- The DRET All Stars programme in music, football, netball, rowing and rugby

- Improved sports facilities and equipment

- Specialist sports programmes, instrumental lessons and the Singing Schools Project

- and much more!

These opportunities are not possible without the Inspiration Fund. Following the COVID-19 Pandemic, now more than ever, it is vitally important for the future physical and mental well-being of young people to ensure that they are given the best possible experiences at school. We hope Route 34 will help to raise awareness of our cause and any donations would be gratefully received.
