About Us

There has been a multilingual school in Culham for 42 years, but over the last eight, it has undergone a metamorphosis from a private to a free school. In addition, this year will be its last as an accredited European school and first as an International Baccalaureate World school.

Languages and STEM subjects have always been a strong element of their curriculum. Bilingual teaching begins at the age of four. As students progress to secondary they study Humanities subjects in their 2nd language. This is an immersive experience akin to studying abroad, students have the choice of French, German and Spanish as a 2nd language. The 6th form intake welcomes new students with a passion for languages, who have studied them at GCSE.

The school curriculum is broad and covers both traditional academic subjects and the arts with the end qualification now being the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).  Over a million students worldwide study under the IB system and benefit from a rich, broad and inclusive education. The curriculum on offer develops bright, engaged students that think independently and have a high degree of cultural awareness. The IB is recognised by University Systems in the UK and internationally, providing students a springboard from which to develop their future careers.

The Europa School UK is recognised as a warm and friendly learning environment situated in a Victorian college in rural Oxfordshire. The school calendar emphasises cultural awareness with celebrations and feast days from around Europe and the rest of the world. It also has a programme of cultural and exchange visits.

As the UK forges its new place in the world, the Europa School is well placed to develop the bright, outwardly looking talent that can seize the new opportunities that will arise.

As an all through school Europa accepts children in reception and also for 6th form. For admission into the 6th form they welcome students with 5 good GCSEs including English and Maths and a stream language at grade 6-9. Details of open days can be found on the school’s website.

Why we're raising money

Europa is growing and to accommodate the newer students on our site we will have to make some changes. These new students will help the school achieve capacity ensuring a stable financial future.

Some of our Year 6 primary classes are housed in the secondary building, where we currently have more capacity. However, by September 2023 secondary will need this space back.

For primary, we plan to convert two new classes in existing buildings and will need up to £40,000 in donations to make this possible.

We have identified the hostel block for at least one of the new classes by converting some smaller rooms so we can create a spacious new classroom.
