Thank you for visiting us on InvestMyCommunity
Please join the Hampshire and the Islands Historic Churches Trust community. We raise funds for Hampshire and the Islands churches to help pay for repairs and improvements to the fabric of their buildings, contents, and churchyards.
We have numerous events throughout the year for Friends - please visit our website for further information: https://hihct.org.uk/membership/
Our main income is the sponsored Ride and Stride event on the 2nd Saturday of September each year. Over 400 churches will be open throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight - many with refreshments for you to enjoy. Why we're raising money
Hampshire and the Isle of Wight is blessed with over 900 fully functioning churches, chapels and meeting houses dating from the 7th to the 20th century, many of which have historic and architectural significance. These churches, which are often in beautiful settings contributing to the landscape, contain much local and national history, heritage and interest, but upkeep and new facilities are expensive.
In 2020 the following nine churches received a total of £49,000 in grant offers from HIHCT funds including grants from Hampshire County Council:
