Supporting the children and families of Beechen Cliff School.
The PTA is proud to launch this crowdfunding appeal to help our school in supporting those families most affected by this pandemic.
It will take time for Covid restrictions to be lifted and we have identified three key areas where supporting our school is most urgently required.1. Mental health
We aim to raise £5000 to support the mental health services offered to the Beechen Cliff School Community.
We would like to support the ongoing vital work for the ‘Solution-Focused Mental Health Programme’. This was launched in June 2020 for families and staff adversely affected by the pandemic. A need has been identified amongst 10% of our parent body who replied in the first wave of communication and are actively seeking support with their own and their family’s mental health. Lessening anxiety and depression within a family setting, will help to improve the pupil’s chance of achieving a good academic education whilst remote learning.2. Laptops
We aim to raise £5000 to buy laptops and IT equipment.
In this way we can provide practical support for our students who still do not have sufficient access to a laptop or adequate connectivity to be effective home learners. The provision of good technical support is essential in developing learning and ensuring that they are able to progress in line with their peers.
We aim to raise £10,000
The PTA funded a new all-purpose school clubhouse successfully installed as a shell just before the first lockdown. However, work still needs to be completed including the provision of running water, drainage facilities and electricity. During September -December 2020 the clubhouse was used as an emergency satellite canteen to feed the masses. Supporting these vital works will bring immediate benefits in covid times and longer term resourcing for the wider community, in both social and sporting terms, as a fully functioning school facility.
To ensure a level educational playing field, the PTA is starting this crowdfunding campaign now to help support every member of our community navigate the implications of the pandemic lockdowns and uncertainty.
So why Crowdfunding?
It’s a great way to achieve a fundraising target through a group of people all coming together to put funds into the same pot and encouraging others to do the same. The larger the group or ‘crowd’ formed, the more money we raise so the key to any crowdfunding appeal is getting the message out there via all of our networks – social media including messaging apps like What’s App.
Please help us to make this possible by donating what you feel comfortable giving and please pass on the appeal details on your own social media network to family, friends and your other contacts to help spread our message. This is really important within our local community. Every single donation helps and every single share helps too!
